How to get votes

You do not need to sign-up or register to enter in the M&IT Awards. All you need to do is canvass for votes from your UK-based event planner network and client lists, asking them to vote for you in your chosen category.

Creating a solid canvassing campaign with clear messaging can make all the difference when it comes to making it onto the M&IT Awards shortlist and taking home one of our coveted awards.

Tell your network

Reach out to your network in the meetings and events industry and ask them to vote for you in your chosen category. We recommend creating promotional content that you can consistently post. Here are some tips and helpful tools:

  • Always link to the voting page www.mitawards.co.uk/vote - event organisers can only vote through the voting form on the Awards website so make sure that’s included in everything you do.

  • Decide on your messaging - get your promotional messaging crystal clear and start pushing it out as much as possible.

  • Use our branded content - download branded banner and logo assets across your canvassing campaign to gain votes.

  • Create a video - It can be informative, humorous, emotional - however you want to capture attention and get those votes rolling in! You can view some previous year’s examples below.

To make it quick and easy for you to create video content, we’ve set up a template via our partner ShoutOut Social. Give it a go!

3

Use your channels

Build a buzz and shout about it on as many platforms as you can!

  • Your website/email signature - have the Awards branding and categories you want to be nominated for as a permanent fixture on your personal emails and website. An easy, efficient way to procure votes.

  • Social media - put out messages, banners, videos across all your social platforms. Especially handy as what you post can be easily shared by others gaining a wider reach.

  • Emails - email your data to hit target groups on mass.

  • Mail merges - if you do not have an email marketing platform, writing to you clients directly from a person will give your campaign a personal touch.
